House of Harp

Lessons Tailored To Suit You or your child

Why do I recommend Primer Lessons?

My love for the harp began at age 5. After my desire persisted, my mom got advice from a local Suzuki harp teacher where we lived because there were two problems: My arms were barely long enough to reach the harp strings while my feet dangled from off the ground and my parents were not ready to invest thousands into a dream a may or may not stick with (understandably so…). Does this sound familiar?

Thankfully the harp teacher we talked to gave amazing advice and suggested that I take two years of piano and theory lessons. During this time my determination and commitment to learning harp only grew and by the time we got a harp, I had a major head start in being able to play well.

Primer students should expect to be immersed in the following in an interactive, fun, and applicable method:

Why choose the Suzuki method?

The Suzuki Method is a tried and true music curriculum and teaching philosophy started by the Japanese violinist, Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, in the mid-20th century. Some of the basic principles emphasized in the Suzuki method include listening, repetition, encouragement, and parent involvement. I walk each student through all five Suzuki harp books which strategically help students learn varying techniques and skills, all while building a beautiful repertoire of refined pieces that take you or your child from beginner to college performance level harp playing.
